Vaqueros Families are... Supportive and Positive Fans

PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT

  • I promise that as a parent of a competitive soccer player, I will make the commitment to ensure my player is on time for all practices, games, and PYSL events.
  • I promise to be a positive role model for my child and their teammates by encouraging sportsmanship, respecting all involved parties, and providing a positive supportive disposition for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators at every game, practice, or other sporting event.
  • I promise to let the coach, team manager, and PYSL administrative parties be responsible for all aspects of the team.  I will not publicly question or demean their authority in the presence of any player, parent, referee, or any other spectator.
  • I promise to wait no less than 24 hours before privately bringing my concerns to the coach’s attention only after a 24-hour cooling-off period has elapsed.
  • I promise not to coach, give directions, or shout any instructions to players during practices, clinics, camps, and games.  I will let the coach do their job in the manner they deem fit to the team and its players while being a supportive, encouraging parent and fan.
  • I promise not to ridicule or yell at my child, coach, players, referees, or other participants.
  • As this is very important to the organization’s image, I, again, promise not to engage, in any manner, with any referee, at any point before, during, or after a game.
  • I promise to maintain control of my emotions and avoid actions, language, and/or gestures that may be interpreted as hostile, disrespectful, and denigrating.
  • I promise that my child and I will treat other players, coaches, officials, and spectators with respect regardless of race, sex, or ability.
  • I promise to abide by all city ordinances, rules, and laws applicable to all fields PYSL and VFC utilize and compete on.
  • I promise to support an environment that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol.
  • I promise not to publicly use drugs, tobacco, and alcohol on any PYSL-permitted premises or during any PYSL game, practice, or event, irrespective of location.
  • I promise to abide by the following rules of PYSL and understand I can be removed, suspended, or expelled from the sidelines at the request of a Coach, Team Manager(s), member(s) of the PYSL Board of Directors, or the Refereeing staff for any violation.
